17h agoHello everyone,
The points system has recently been revised. However, many of us still find it illogical that a defeat earns points. Awarding points for a defeat is completely inconsistent.
My proposal:
Reward victories in official matches
Double the points for a win, i.e. if I play a rank 5 match, that earns 10 points in the VF rankings.
Cast your votes – for or against! ;)

Especially as it earns points for those who aren’t active

17h agoI partly agree, but we should take the opponent’s level into account as before: level 10 = 10 points, level 1 = 1 point.
Not by doubling the points.
The system is so much simpler and applies to all competitions, even friendlies.
At least we’ll stop saying that Level 10 players are favoured because of their VFT background

16h agoWouldn’t that duplicate the limit on friendly matches?

I think a maximum of 3 points in a friendly match makes sense; otherwise, you might as well just play against a mate with a rating of 10.

Yes, but all the other matches are described as ‘official’, although IE might be an exception.

Yes, it’s worth considering what might be possible, but making a big deal out of defeats is nonsense.
Once the proposal is implemented in the league, the cup, etc.—anything but friendlies under the current rules.

I agree. Or:
V = 100% of VF marks
N = 50% of VF marks
D = 25% of VF marks

15h agoYes, as far as I’m concerned, a defeat is worth 0 points, but that’s just my opinion ^^

15h agoGoing against the grain, I find it ‘interesting’ to award 1 point to the loser. It ‘rewards’ the fact that you’ve played, and it sets you apart from those who don’t play. I like the idea of making (very gradual) progress just by playing, at the very least.
But the difference between a defeat and a victory is too small at the moment. (3 points is not much compared to the single point awarded for a defeat)
Not to mention the awarding of ‘lunar’ points in the event of a draw in non-friendly matches, for example

14h agoI must be the only one who couldn’t care less about the VF points.
At the end of the day, apart from the infrastructure, what difference does it make?

13h agoI’d tend to go for a differentiated system:
Defeats would only count towards the club’s levels but not towards the VF ranking. This would maintain the aim of progressing more quickly through the levels without causing any odd situations in the VF ranking.
And/or perhaps a restriction to ensure that a defeat does not yield more points than the opposing team’s victory.

13h agoWhy not limit the ability to build the CDF 10 to club levels 5 or 6 instead?
This is the number one obstacle to keeping new players interested.
Once you realise you need 1,000 points – and potentially two years in real life, at a rate of 80 points per season – to reach that level, become financially independent and hope to compete with the best (without much help from alliances).
For a casual player, it’s no longer feasible to expect them to play for two years or more with a rubbish team and by buying mercenaries whose performance is on the decline without them losing interest before then.
To address the main point: if points awarded for defeats are retained, I’m also in favour of increasing them proportionally for wins and draws in competitions, in order to maintain a consistent VF ranking.
