Too often at Vforum auctions (rare though they are) we see a bid at pdv arrive 2' before the end, on an auction that often lasts several days... I would like to see a minimum extension of 6 hours for a bid that arrives during the last hour of the auction.
At the moment, the system is biased. You have a hand in an auction that ends the next day at 9pm... the pdv is reached... and you are given 1M on the player 5' before the end of the auction... and he gets it. It's just too easy.

It existed at the time.
Why was it removed? No idea, probably a good reason. But yes, it's clearly too easy to win an auction.

Alternatively, we could do away with VFO sales 😏

Here again, an auction lasting 4 days, a bid is placed at 7:55pm for an auction that closes at 8pm and at 8:05pm the topic is closed. It's just too easy.

We could imagine sealed envelope auctions.
I don't think it would be technically very complicated to set up.
In practice, the seller would set a deadline, 48 hours for example, and within that time any interested buyer would register one price and one price only (visible to no-one) and at the set deadline, the player would go to the one who had registered the highest price.
That way, there's no need to fiddle around and wait until the last minute to bid.
