Hi, I’m a beginner and need some advice on what to do when starting this game. I’ve read the manual but was wondering if there are more tutorials/guides? Thanks

Hello yzjyzj,

Welcome onto the game !

The manual in English is kinda basic, it's going to be improved, but it's a work in progress ...

Here are some basic advices :

You get one transfer offer, 2M for a "free player profile" (Overall Rating and potential < 20). If you click on the name of the club, you can see that this club is inactive : not connected since 2023.
=> Those offers are an hidden help from the game.
Keep that money to improve your facilities !
It's a management game and money is hard earned.

General advice : you can click on everything written in green, there are links.

As you get this offer, you put all your players on transfer list for 2M ...
This is a mistake ... get them off the transfer list ...
Why ? Because they won't get sold, and by the way, after 7 days on list and unsold, you will have to pay a tax (agent fees) depending on the price set.
These players worth nothing, as I already say, they are "free players".
And I don't know why, but inactive clubs don't buy on list ... it's an hidden help, they only make offers randomly but on unlisted players.

I will give a big general advice : take your time, think long term ... I mean don't waste your money, for example, basic mistake is to buy players overpriced on transfer list.
You can click on "at club since", to see the historical transfer of the player (you can negociate), and a estimated value (not perfect but it can give an idea).

My general advice is : it's better to buy on auction, you can make good deals.
Use filters, bid on players at 0 with no bidders ... this way you can follow them, and when the auction is finished by clicking on his name (you will receive a message), you can see at how much he was sold.
This will give you a good idea of the market.

Now ... let's talk about facilities.
Improve your stadium, get all your fans inside during games : they pay tickets !
I said that because you set 70/30 repartition, and you can't get all your fans to pay to view yours games => lack of income.

Build and improve your shop. Fill it everyday !

After each league game, you can let an interview ...
Don't let your interviews on the newspaper, they pay nothing. Choose a TV channel, others managers can pay around 80k$ for an interview ...
It can look relatively little money, but if you think about a whole season (14 league games), it's around 1M ... not negligible for a beginner.

To build your squad, it can be tempting to take only high rating players. But, IMO don't get them too old, because the affinity between them can minor their rating in game, and endurance should be taken into account too.

Final word :
don't hesitate to ask your question here, in the apprentice section.
Our community will be glad to answer, and answers can be profitable to others managers too.

Good luck and enjoy virtuafoot manager :)
