Hello VF team and hello Teddy!

For several games now, I've been trying out Fluid Defence, which looks interesting on paper.
Problem: I really feel like nothing's happening.

Are any of you using it? I like everything that's fluid IRL so I'd like to try it on VF.

It's just a big mess that will never be put back the way it was, and that's the worst of it.

Personally, I use it... what's the difference?

Fluid enough to take goals against bigger opponents!
And fluid enough not to score against someone smaller than you!

So I think it's like some fluids, it just slips in!

Fluid defence sucks, it doesn't prevent you from losing a match!

But it's not unusual for you to lose a slice!
Add carrots to the mix and you've got a winning combo!

OK, so basically it's useless!
I'd heard it was sometimes used to counter opponents who move every 3 minutes, but it seemed too easy to me as a counter tactic.

It works, I often see reports on my matches where I have more stats on the side of my defence where I'm being attacked than on the other, even though I'm "Blocking the lanes" without favouring one side in particular with a DM or DL on that flank.

And I'm not the spokesperson for the CPs, just a guy who likes to make jokes. In our agreement, there's no one way of thinking or speaking. Everyone is free to think what they want. We don't force people to put on an outfit, nor do we force them to all say the same thing.

I've never liked fluid defence. You sink into it like melted butter!
Personally, my mother preferred anything creamy. What a Proust's madeleine it would be if the MDJ allowed us to play with a creamy defence instead of a fluid one!

I've always used it. Given I play a lot of games without any players who impact defensive ratings on sides and always play high press, would my defensive ratings on side be 0 if I changed it to rigid?
Might give it a go in a friendly one day.

It's a pity that the fluid defence dried up towards the end of the game.

Fluid defence requires more physical effort from the player and therefore reduces the statistics at the end of matches.

I say it's not bad when you don't want to get caught out when your opponent frantically changes sides ^^.

I've always used fluid defence. Because I'm often afk and this "small" variation in stats is enough against timid players. On the other hand, it obviously has its limits when you're dealing with players who pack 150+ on one side. So of course my results don't speak in its favour, but you just have to realise that it's less effective than a manual change of tactic, but more effective than being afk and being outflanked on one side.

I've taken screenshots of my instructions with the match stats, and the fluid defence does have an impact by increasing the stats on the side being attacked.

I've always wondered if the "fluid defence" mode wasn't buggy when you set your defence to something other than "normal".
Maybe it only works when you leave it normal (no pressing, blocking the corridor, etc).

I think today in IS, at the end of the match, that the fluid defence changed the off stats of the striker, not the defence!
