6 month agoHi everyone,
This is getting serious.
How can you take carrots like that all the time?
This season is a disaster, how can the creators of this game let this continue?
Is the aim to be AFK? To take a point or win without any stats?
I don't know whether to laugh or cry!
All I know is that if it goes on like this, soon there won't be anyone left on this game!

6 month agoWe're clearly favouring AFKs, when you see the penalty you take for a simple change...
The problem is that carrots should be "exceptional" and they are commonplace.
It just doesn't make sense: isn't Aymeric's aim to get people to spend time and money in the store? The MDM favours those who spend as little time as possible on the game, are AFK during their matches... and are therefore unlikely to consume from the store.
At this rate, in a few seasons, a lot of people will stop. They'll either stop following the games, stop buying from the store or stop playing altogether.

How many active players are there? How many multis? In short. Enjoy the game.

There's a lot to eat and drink, I'm aware of that, but we're playing a game for fun, carrots happen and they're bound to happen, just like in real life, but what bothers me is that in this case it's non-stop and it's getting tedious...

6 month agoAymeric demonstrated, with figures to back it up, that there were no
- no carrots galore
- nor any correlation between a bad result and a good one in its wake,
- nor compensation,
- or bonuses for afk,
...but beliefs are tenacious and everyone thinks that their sample is representative of THE truth when it doesn't even represent a significant percentage of anything.
As long as we refuse to look at our own results in the light of the large number of matches that take place every day on VF and for which the results obtained are mathematically correlated with the probabilities from which they derive, we'll continue to believe that when the sea gets rough it's after us.

6 month agoI admit that my approach was too direct and too frontal.
That's fine by me.
On the other hand, I'm still convinced that there are certain things about MDM that need to be improved.
I think it's a bit in bad faith to always find excuses for everything, not to question yourself, and to feel directly attacked.
If people complain (whatever the level of complaint), it's because there are things that need to be improved.
The community is also the lifeblood of the game; more community means more 'life' in the game.
I think it's possible to find a happy medium for everyone and make the game better than it is.
The basis of the game is good and we know it, that's why people stay.
And after all, if people complain, it's because they still care about the game, so we shouldn't see evil everywhere.
On that note. Good evening everyone and enjoy the game ⚽️

6 month agoI don't agree that an AFK can't get a result. If he has prepared his match, it's possible. Although without a scheduled change it seems more difficult to me.
In this case, in your match, he connected ... because he changed his entire defence. Your attack dropped to 190 and his defence went back up to 350. He had a 1 in 3 chance of a draw... you haven't lost yet, which isn't bad, but an IE match is always difficult.
Look at this match in my league today, defensive block, no strikers and they snatched victory. While the other team were favourites and made their changes ... those who take the initiative should be rewarded more and that's why I understand your frustration. The substitutes should have more impact on the game. That's the magic of football!

There have always been posts complaining about mdm for as long as the game has existed, and it's never going to change, so why bother complaining about it?
Take advantage of what's great about the game, enjoy your victories and blame your friends for their defeats, challenge yourself to improve your team, improve and refine your tactical knowledge. These are the only things you can influence, and there's plenty of fun to be had.

6 month agoThe problem is that the "defenders of the MDM" are going to come and talk to you about IRL football where there are carrots, except that in reality the missed chances are due to a finishing problem by the strikers or a save by the goalkeeper, something we have no control over on VF, it's just chance, whether your ATC has 99NG or 10ng it has the same finish, same for the goalkeepers.
So there's nothing we can do about it and the comparison is meaningless.
All the while knowing that max chances are capped at 0.27xG whereas in reality max chances are at 0.99xG 🙂
You just take that away it's the end of the carrots against AFK 60ng since those who leave boulevards would be taking 0.8 - 0.9xG chances (80-90% chance of scoring) all game.
Which is the equivalent of a pass in front of the goal with the net empty because the defence is so out of sorts.

6 month agoFirstly, if you take a friendly match against an easy team, in theory you shouldn't lose it, as it's marked (easy) because if you lose that match, it's because it wasn't easy but rather difficult, Secondly, what doesn't make sense in this calculation system is that a team that hasn't had any training, because it hasn't been connected for almost two months, manages to score 4 goals from 7 or 8 chances, whereas you only score 3 out of 10...

6 month agoSkyz sums up the MDM situation perfectly.
Increasing the XG would make it possible to increase the second-hand/goal conversion. And thus limit the carrot phenomenon.
I think the frustration is great for someone who takes a "carrot" when you have followed the match for 1h30 (or even less) while someone from AFK indirectly accepts not winning his match, or not having put all the chances on his side.

6 month agoIt's true that chances capped at 0.26/0.27xG when sometimes nothing happens in a match for 30 minutes... That's hardly punishing!
Especially when there are openings in one or more areas.
What's more, with the drastic reduction in the number of points per player (end of 99NG), in a few seasons we'll "only" have matches with almost equivalent statistics. Which promises increasingly boring matches!

6 month agoThe MdM is quite a story. I'm one of the opponents of this programme. Over a full season, you'll see that your xG will be close to the number of goals you score and your xGa will be close to the number of goals you concede. That works. On the other hand, between day 1 and day 49, it's a real mess^^.
Your 4 or 5 1-0 defeats are going to be "compensated" by a great 7-0 win against an AFK 600 pts below you. Great! A win at last. You play again the next day, you come out with a nice 0-0 with 17 chances. You're going to have seasons where everything goes well and others where you end up with a -8 difference in the corrected standings. That happened to me recently (or not far off) .... And 49 days is a long time! In short, it's a programme that can hold its own over the long term, but you can't stop at the details of a match (it's a load of rubbish).
After that, it has to be said that this MdM makes a certain amount of sense, given that the big clubs are at the finish line of the big competitions, but personally I'm bored with it.
On the plus side, he was kind enough to let me have the LDC for a season! Yippee!

Good evening,
for your information, a season is no longer 49, but 56 days ;)
Flemme is sourcing links from the News section, but roughly speaking from the game's history.
1 season =
From 42 to 49 days with the appearance of the Champions League (before the VFian elite gathered in the VF Masters)
And from 49 to 56, with the appearance of the federations.

6 month ago@ ADRIEN-39 and those who feel aggrieved
Good evening,
The problem with the (recurring) criticism of the mdm is the sample of examples taken ...
If you only take your matches ... first of all, you have to take into account the confirmation bias: you're only going to take the frustrating matches you've lost, which will confirm your "thesis", and (unintentionally) put aside the matches you've won, which would invalidate your "thesis". The same goes for those who think there will be a rebalancing over the season.
And I'd even go so far as to say that if a club were to come along and show that it had suffered a season with 56 carrots in the season, that would just make it the unluckiest club in the VF. The sample of matches analysed would be irrelevant in terms of the total number of matches in the game.
Aymeric45 set up an Open Data Programme a while ago: #forum?topic=145497
To enable analysis and argument based on a representative and relevant sample, without which the conclusion can only be inaudible in the eyes of the MDJ.
#matchs?export
There are currently 300,000 matches played during the season.

6 month agoDudziak, when you dominate 9 areas, you have 17 chances, you're aggressive, you have 70% possession, you score approx 17*0.25 = 4.25 xG and you finish 0-0, that's not tactics, that's a delusion of the MdM^^.
But now I've made up my mind... As I find it hard to leave the game, I schedule easy friendlies against lvl 1 or 2 that I'm not following, and I play 5 or 6 IEs during the season. When a league bores me, I go elsewhere....
I've completely lost that consistency in the game. In the good old days, I used to follow my tactics to the letter, but too many carrots have put me off (it all makes a good soup^^).
I'd prefer to see the 15-0s of the 2010s again or, when 2 teams are at roughly the same level, a nice 5-4. There can't be many LDC or VFFA winners who haven't taken penalties to get to the end... that says a lot.
It's not very realistic, but it makes you want to follow the game... rather than spending 90 minutes watching 3 chances go one way and 2 the other, and ending up with a miserable 0-0 draw.
