Hazard said as much recently, and loads of posts have pointed it out, but nothing’s changing....
How do you expect to retain new managers with a Manager of the Month award that’s in such a sorry state?

It’s already the third time this season that we’ve missed out on 32nd place in the VFFA because of the MdM, that lovely inter-club match and a 0–6 friendly (though I was in training mode for that one, but 0–6 for a 0.54/1.94)
How on earth can anyone enjoy themselves with such rubbish results?

The xG figures for all these matches are reassuring, but the results are completely ridiculous...

I agree with you.
The problem is that the stronger you are, the more likely you are to lose to a weaker opponent. Just so you know, I also took a few proper knocks last season – when you’ve got a 0.2 per cent of losing by a three-goal margin, or even losing 1–0. I don’t mind losing to someone weaker than me – that’s not the point – but when you see the scores sometimes, you wonder why you should carry on. It’s got to the point where I’m afraid to make a substitution or change tactics during a match, otherwise I’ll concede a goal and that’s already happened to all of us – losing is part of the game. Aymeric, we’re not asking you to change everything with the MDM; we’re just asking for the scores to make more sense – especially if you lose several times in the season with scores that really don’t make sense. Think of those who put in real money and keep the game going. This isn’t a criticism; it’s just an observation.

I’ve just come off the back of a very one-sided cup match where I created 21 chances (a record – I didn’t even think that was possible) and scored 8 goals.

It’s been said a hundred times already, so let’s add a hundred and first:
If chance played such a big part, it wouldn’t always be the same teams at the top of the VF table, nor would it always be the same clubs winning the titles.
If every team played their 100 IE matches by tossing a coin, over 50 seasons you’d have a good dozen different winners of at least one title. So how do you explain that there have been almost only two?

The element of chance is undeniable in this game, but it affects around 10 or 15 per cent of matches, which I think is acceptable.
The problem is no doubt that it’s these matches that people remember and complain about here, rather than the others.

Nobody comes here to start a thread saying: ‘Thanks to the MDM, in my first 14 matches of the season I’ve had 12 logical results.’
Yet if you flip a coin 14 times, getting ‘heads’ 12 times is quite exceptional (if my memory of probability calculations serves me correctly, that’s once in 180).

I would like to point out that all the matches are independent of one another.

Don’t be frustrated just because you didn’t win earlier.
For the last 20 seasons, the top teams have had 30 points more per player than everyone else – that’s a fact, and good for you! But to say, ‘Yeah, it’s always the same lot’ – I don’t agree with that when you look at the Champions League before this generation.
Honestly, having played loads of games, your stats really help you avoid being spread too thin across all fronts because you’ve got far too many stats.
Anyway, I’m not going to go on about the buggy match and here – you’re struggling to get over the draw, and yes, I’ll say it, you’ve had a bit of a knock, but one every 20 matches is fine – you’ll survive.

Franchement pour en avoir joué beaucoup vos team vous aide vachement a pas etre sur tout le fronts car vous avez beaucoup trop de stat .

I’ve got no problem with draws. It’s part of the game and I’ve come to accept it.
You won’t see me posting a carrot.
Like everyone else, I get my fair share of them.

The only thing that annoys me is this sort of topic that’s been going round in circles for the last five years.
The MDM is what it is, and Aymeric has no plans to change it.
Why carry on playing if the game annoys you so much?

Long-serving players aren’t asking for too much. I suggest you put together a team of 11. That’ll help you let off some steam.

As for the bugs, that’s a completely separate issue.

Yet another thread, always from the ‘I’m leaving, I’m taking a break,I’m sulking, but actually I’m still here because it’s easier to criticise than to stop, and nobody taught me how to deal with frustration when I was little’—with a bit of luck, this will keep people occupied for the weekend before it’s closed down until the next childish outburst.

You’re right, Estac: “Why carry on playing?”.
I’m going to stop playing in the IEs. I’ll finish the season for the team’s sake, and that’s it.
That way, I won’t need to keep up with it any more. If things do change one day, I’d still prefer to keep my club afloat, though.
But I don’t want to waste my time any more, and unfortunately, that’s one of the reasons why VF is losing so many managers.
The MdM makes no sense at times.
And yes, the big names are always at the top because they have incredible teams, are more dedicated and are undoubtedly better strategically and tactically, but that’s not the problem.
The problem is those matches that end with a ridiculous result between two good teams, with xG figures suggesting the opposite, or against weak teams where it sometimes takes 15 chances to score just one. It happens far too often.
I’m not into the stats, but defeats with a ratio below 1 per cent should happen once every five seasons, not twice in a single season (and the season isn’t even over yet)...I’ve had a 6–0 too… but I think the ratio was above 1.
Anyway, it suits the majority, so that’s fine. It doesn’t suit me.

No way to get back on track...
I used to be somewhere between 15th and 50th in the overall rankings; now I’m between 150th and 250th.
I must have missed a step somewhere; I’ve forgotten how to play VF and I’m going to stop stressing myself out over this game.
I’m going to look for something else that’s better polished and more fun. If, one day, I fancy a bit of chance, I’ll suggest a game of Yams or Monopoly to my wife.
