Hi there, community!

So here’s the thing, I’ve heard about an urban legend:

“Anyone who doesn’t log in for more than a week gets 90+ players as a gift via email”

Being the big sucker that I am, I wanted to put this to the test a couple of weeks ago

I messed up my youth team’s training (so I sold them, obviously)
And since I logged back in, I haven’t got a thing :(

So I’m publicly debunking this urban legend, haha ^^

I lasted 8 days and then, hey presto, I’d logged back into Virtuafoot ^^

Isn’t it unfair that you didn’t get your player, or that clubs are creating multiple accounts left, right and centre to get those 90NG, resell them at the maximum price, and then transfer the money back to their main club one way or another?

Rull43 C'est pas juste que tu n'es pas eu ton joueur ou que des clubs créent des multis à gogo pour obtenir ces 90NG le revendre au prix max, puis transférer l'argent…

Well, I’m as pure as the driven snow, aren’t I? ^^

It’s just that I don’t get why I’m not eligible :(

No, but seriously, it was just a little experiment ^^

It’s not like I’ve created loads of alt accounts or anything...
To be honest, I’m just gutted for my kids, you know :(

I’d understood.
My reply was ironic because, unfortunately, some people aren’t that honest. Sorry, I don’t know the exact rule regarding how long it takes for inactive clubs to receive this ‘gift’, but unfortunately it’s not just a myth. An admin, someone in the know or a cheater will certainly be able to help you.

But for someone who’s honest, I don’t think that’s the best way to grow. All the best

I reckon the game doesn’t like me ^^

Even six months ago, when I started playing, all my mates were getting free cheques for 2–3 million every two days – except me ^^

And now, nothing – I’ve never got a gift by email ;(

Why would anyone want to take unfair advantage of a game mechanic?

Where’s the honour in that?

So here’s the thing:

I think it’s a shame for me not to make the most of this – why?

In 9 days, I can hope to play 9 matches

With roughly 100k per match, to round it off
That’s 900k in 9 days, plus 400k from the shop

As a modest club, I can hope to earn 1.3 million, a bit more with mentoring

If I follow the trend that’s emerging – not logging in for 9 days and getting a 90+ player worth 20 million…

Well…
I play every day and I could never make 20 million in 9 days

I just think it’s fair to take advantage of this system, if nobody minds

It’s a bit daft, but fair enough

In my opinion, that’s verging on insider dealing.
Mind you, I’m no lawyer!

What does your conscience tell you: money or patience?

The problem with the last few seasons is that the game is completely different now.
If you’ve been playing for quite a fewyears, you see the game going completely off the rails, partly because loads of people are running multiple accounts just to keep track of them all – and how on earth is it possible that a club which has taken 10 or even 15 seasons to reach the top 300 in the French server can’t beat clubs that’ve been around for six months with 90 rating. And finally, never, ever would a Level 9 or 10 club have spent 30m or more on a player with a rating of 80 to 85; now that seems normal.
I’m all for a VF rating – it’s essential – but the fact is that many former clubs and players are quitting the game because their funds are running out just to stay at Division 1 level, and renewing players’ contracts is becoming too complicated to keep up with.

The first problem, yeah, it’s complicated – it’s become easier to run multiple accounts.

On the other hand, it’s not at all out of the ordinary for players with a rating of 80 to be sold for 30M; the market is based on a player’s relative value. Players rated 80–90 will be at the top of the tier for the next few years.

The problem is the development of young players.

It’s been devalued, I feel.

Teams are now reliant on players created by Aymeric and brought into the game.

Are there still players who are willing to sacrifice 4–5 seasons to build a team?

You’ll be able to train young riders who’ll be on a par with the top riders, or even a bit better, and if the 28-year-olds can manage 90ng – as A45 does – that’d be brilliant.
That’s not the case, though.
If you’ve got an 80-pot, it’ll already be massive if it manages 80ng and 15 endu.

And the players they’re giving away in a bid to get people back into the game – that’s the worst so-called ‘good idea’ the MDJ has ever come up with...

That said, the 90 players brought in are 28 years old, have a permanent contract and minimal experience… essentially, they’re not exactly warhorses…They might do the job in a pinch for an experienced club (and even then, only if there’s a good fit) and give a young club the impression it has a top-class team, but its dreams of greatness will soon come up against the reality of the game...Admittedly, they’ll breeze through the basic Level 4 teams in Division 3 of a league, but that’s as far as it’ll go.

The title says ‘marked’, so it’s not fair – I might as well add something quickly....
Just a quick question: why does the Champagne Cup knock out the IE teams but not the friendly matches? Is this a new rule?
