I had 2-3 players at 70-75% of their capacity, but their overall rating was a little higher than my friend's. I thought I'd go for it. I tell myself that I'm going to attack on the wings as he only has 3 defenders and my 4 defenders will do the job in defence with an MDC.

To my unpleasant surprise, from the start of the match possession wasn't in my favour - 20/80, you might say, quite normal for the start of a match. He dominated me on the wings in defence, in midfield I could have guessed with his formation, but in attack I wasn't punchy enough either.

As a result, I was chasing possession all game and even at the 60th minute, with a red from his side, I only scored one goal.

So I'm going to forget about my coaching skills and stop this training ^^ .

All the formations are playable, you just need players to boost the style of play that will improve the area of your choice.
In 4-3-3, technical play or short passes.

Yes, I think it's a formation that requires fairly precise skills and players who are fairly complete in their positions. I didn't see the midfield and the possession seemed excessive to me - 20/80 is 10 against 11 at that level. With 10 men, he didn't go below 50%.

I don't think you made any bad choices, in terms of defence if you blocked the corridor he would have eaten you in all 3 sectors, given the xg you would very well have finished 1/1 or even won :)

Thanks for your feedback, yes the xG reassures me given the way the game went ... it was a 3 result but it was super realistic. I don't think I'll try again because we lost too much in the middle.
