A lot has happened in my life since then that I've totally forgotten.
But that day, after coming home from school until bedtime, I'm not lying when I say I remember exactly everything... 😔

Bcp de chose se sont passés depuis dans ma vie que j’ai totalement oublié.
Mais ce jour là après être rentré de l’école jusqu’au couché, je ne ment vraiment pas en disant que je me souviens d’exactement tout … 😔

I was out in the vineyards picking grapes when I heard it on the radio on my walkman. It was almost the end of the day. An hour later, I came home and turned on the TV; I was in shock. I couldn't understand what was happening...
I was half my age and it's one of those moments when you remember where you were and what you were doing.

I was a waiter's apprentice in a pizzeria in the Hérault region of France... same thing, I came home after the lunch service, turned on the TV... and what a crazy thing, I didn't pick it up... I came back to the restaurant at 6pm... same thing, the chef was still in front of the TV in the kitchen...

That made an impression!

It's not getting any younger!

I was 24, I was at work, and I was shocked, because 2 months before I was in NYC before my brother. and we had purposely bought a sandwich and eaten at the foot of the twin towers, exactly at noon when people were leaving the offices, then when I finished my meal, I tilted my head up, and I took a picture of the towers upside down with my kodac disposable camera mdr.

The same day, I stopped working, I even went home in the middle of the afternoon, people just couldn't get any work done.

I was also 24 years old and it left its mark on me, as it has on many people.

I remember very well, I was 26 years old, I was a removal man in Monaco, I was in a flat with big TVs all over the place on the stock exchange channel because the owner must have been doing it for a living.

On 11 September I was at work and it was a colleague who warned us by making a sort of joke, so we didn't believe him.

I was in my final year, I had lessons the next day, it was around midnight when it happened and I was already sleeping. I woke up the next morning and was stunned.

I was 20 and had just started my first job a week earlier. I remember hearing the news on the radio in the middle of the afternoon when the second tower had just been hit.
I went home early and sat glued to the TV watching the first tower fall... the shock.

Between the ages of 18 and 20, I'd lived to the full the 98 World Cup victory and then the Euro 2000 victory. It was a great time to be partying and falling in love with my wife - a great time to be looking to the future. September 11 2001 really brought us back down to earth.

I was at secondary school and I saw it on the news and it blew me away.

But as I was a young man from Toulouse at the time, it wasn't the most striking event of September...

My son, born in 2012, has just done a course in Year 3 on 11 September. His teacher told him to ask around, and you'll see that the vast majority of people will know what they were doing on 11 September 2001.

I was 13, picking up my little brother from primary school to go home as I did every day. Of course, we didn't have smartphones back then.
The first thing my little brother did was put the Minikeums on TV! No parents to tell us to do our lessons, so it was our own time before our parents came home.
That day, there were no Minikeums, just pictures that I didn't understand at first.
I remember picking up my Nokia and calling my mum to find out why the TV channels were all showing the same thing!
The next day I had Spanish lessons at college and that was the day! We hardly had any lessons, just discussions between teachers and students.

Hydilik: J'avais 13 ans, j'ai récupéré mon petit frère de l'école primaire pour rentrer à la maison comme chaque jour. Évidemment, on n'avait pas de smartphone à cette époque.
La 1re chose que faisait mon petit frère, c'était de mettre les Minikeums à la télé ! Pas de parents pour nous dire de faire nos leçons, donc c'était notre moment à nous avant le retour de nos parents.
Ce jour-là, pas de Minikeums, seulement des images que je ne comprenais pas au début.
Je me rappelle avoir pris mon Nokia et ...
