24 days agoHi, it would be interesting to know how most clubs manage their clubs in terms of player development. How do you go about it? Do you keep a team together from the start without reselling it until retirement? Do you have two teams, one improving and the other competitive? Do you only train players and then sell them on, or do you only train players and renew them? In the case of the training centre, do you opt to resell players or systematically integrate them into the first team? What do you think is the most attractive model at a high level and financially?

24 days agoAs far as I'm concerned, after 14 months in the game I don't necessarily have a big team... but 85-88NG next season seems satisfactory!
I'm going to have some youngsters this season who are going to finish their training and join my A team
The idea is that I'm going to keep or even improve this team until they regress and then take on youngsters again, but in small doses so as not to be bothered with the ambition side of things
So I don't want to turn everything upside down all at once
I think the idea is the right one, but you also have to have the means to do it

24 days agoI'm probably the odd one out regarding my "strategy", but here it is.
I have two squads, B team is usually formed of at least 9 or 10 developing players, sometimes all 11.
I don't like to have too many players (up to 26-27), and I like to play academy graduates, so I sometimes sell players who are close to 30 or older and I don't plan to keep them as staff to free up space.
I always sell by auction as I don't need money, train players specifically to fit my tactics resulting in relatively low overall rating and don't want to be bothered with player valuation tables.
I rarely buy any players, I think I've bought less than 10 players combined in the last 15 seasons or so.
I try to promote players early, especially central (offensive or defensive) midfielders and central defenders, in order to train them to fit the playing style.
Usually I keep promoted youngsters, but sometimes I'll promote player just to place him on auction if I already have a few young players of "similar profile" or if I can't give him regular minutes (at least 50 min every other day).
I always get bonus from sponsor as it is impossible for me to play with less than 9 players from my youth academy, so there is a bit of profit every season.

24 days agoSo for me ...
Like everyone else, I started at club level 1
I put a bit of money in for the vf store and financial support (I can't remember but ... it must have been around 30 euros ? I don't remember but the idea is there). I wanted to play with a squad that wasn't necessarily TOP NG99 or anything else but ... to have fun all the same.
One season (I think S13... 1 ? + or -) I saw red after one too many carrots and I was determined to let go of vf so I dumped the whole squad at auction... and then I realised that ... I could then up 2 or 3 cdf from level 9 to 10 lol.
I changed my mind and persisted, first playing full free in friendlies and in real life it's a pain, so little by little I bought low cost players (30 years old or more but at low prices) and I worked like that for several seasons until I had enough club points for this famous cdf 10. During this time I took my youngsters out of the centre and trained them.
And given the price of the big NGs I'm not about to change the recipe, because between the s131 and the end of the construction of the cdf 10 this season there's not much left to transfer lol (i.e. I've never had any crazy sums of money coming from an agreement ^^) apart from the financial help at the start, it was all acquired on the demerde and by myself lol.
