Récemment arrivé dans les bas-fonds de VF, le Skjoldvegg SK est un petit club qui vient de passer le couperet des deux mois d’activité. La saison 133 était donc la première saison pleine pour cette jeune équipe venue des régions les plus septentrionales du globe.

Stade :



Le stade de Söngflóinn, francisé en La baie des chants est un bel écrin de près de 45.000 places avec une capacité maximale de 50.000 supporters. Construit sur un pölder en plein milieu d‘un fjord islandais, il est une petite merveille d‘architecture.

Le potentiel de ce club a été repéré par un énorme sponsor en première année : rien de moins que Mastercard ! Cette confiance et cet afflux de moula ont été des facteurs déterminants du bon démarrage du club.

Etant donné la localisation géographique du club et le caractère de Tröll du président-directeur-général-manager-perpétuel, il était naturel que le Skoldvegg SK intègre la Légion Viking peu de temps après sa création. Tout seul on va moins loin, ensemble on va plus vite, ou quelque chose du genre. La bonne citation est perdue dans les brumes des banquets dédiés à Odin et ses plaisirs... une chose est sûre, cette amitié sans failles a aidé à structurer le club.

La politique de développement du club est clairement identifiable en plusieurs phases bien distinctes :

1. Faire de la merde sur le marché des transferts. CHECK
2. Récupérer deux/trois joueurs de haut niveau grâce à notre sponsor adoré. CHECK
3. Récupérer 21 jeunes à former. CHECK
4. Survivre à la réforme de l‘endurance en cours. CHECK
5. Prioriser les infrastructures. EN COURS.

Pour la saison 134, nous avons décidé de pleinement profiter des opportunités offertes par ce football-business que nous adorons tous. Nous nous sommes courageusement délocalisés au Brésil où nous avons hâte de participer à des échanges culturels à base de bières, ballons et bagarres. Tant pis pour l‘empreinte écologique, c‘est un truc de pauvre de toute façon.

Dans un excès d‘enthousiasme, nous avons même participé à la toute première édition de la Coupe U21. Les sept buts encaissés en deux rencontres nous ont donné un petit aperçu du loooong chemin qu‘il nous reste à parcourir avant de découvrir la compétition sérieusement.

D‘ici là, nous continuerons à construire pas à pas les briques de notre club.

[It's the end of the season for us and for everyone else. Time to take stock[/b]

First of all, we didn't make a fool of ourselves in the domestic cup, stopping short in the 1/16th round. It has to be said that against the armada of Seleção Brasil our options were limited.

Season 135 ended without fanfare for our young club. In the championship, we had to fight not against our opponents, but against the deadly boredom of a D3 group with only two active players. On one of the rankings, we finished champion! Unfortunately, this is the corrected ranking... let's pay tribute to the real champion, the Dream City {¥£$} team, managed by Artorius54. Whatever the corrected ranking says, he dominated our two confrontations (1 win, 1 draw). Given the physiognomy of the group, this makes him a winner who could not be more legitimate! As you know, Brazil is a fertile ground for corruption. The football authorities have been rotten to the core since the reign of Joao Havelange. .  We also started our first IE campaign. 15 points in 8 matches for a discovery, it's a record that we can appreciate, even if it will provoke a simple disdainful raise of the eyebrow for the biggest clubs of D1. Because after all, it was "only" D2. However, despite one of the most respectable ratios of D2, our sister agreement (La Légion Viking 3, as a reminder) devotes itself almost exclusively to training. Too few clubs are equipped to fight in IE and, with almost half as many matches as the opposing agreements, we had to resolve to go down to the third division. A blessing in disguise, since it will allow clubs perhaps a little shy about the idea of playing in D2 to measure themselves against other managers! We have also started to sell off the few players who have not progressed satisfactorily. I don't blame these players, it's our fault. We panicked a bit when VFIFA introduced new rules aimed at increasing the physical load in matches.  Project for new physical constraints to be introduced in matches. Abandoned. In fact, for the players in post-training with us (two seasons maximum), we may have intensified the physical training load a bit too much. Even though they slightly exceed their potential, they are not "bankable" enough for a market that still swears by NG, even if the flashy players cough up their lungs after fifteen minutes of play. We are starting the new season in a good way, with already two victories in IE and a victory in the cup. It is a real satisfaction to see this team grow, the lasting affinities being created and maintained for a few seasons now. We have invested in a few youngsters who, we have no doubt, will brilliantly take over from our aging "style" players. Sometimes criticized by opponents who are helpless in the face of a rarely used style, our team, described by some as "ass-combers who play defensively" has never played anything other than with an offensive attitude, or even very offensive. This kind of remark, fortunately anecdotal, makes us smile. All these great results on the field (at least, for now...) must not distract us from our number one goal: to win points to improve our infrastructure and establish ourselves in a lasting way in the VFien landscape. Sjáumst fljótlega! PS: I have been in charge of the Icelandic selection for a few weeks. I am thinking about a RP way to knit something around this and avoid "confiscating" the selection in a purely Viking lore. If I find it (and if I have time…), I will make it a specific topic.

A quick update on the Brazilian league. Decried, mocked, unloved... sometimes rightly so! However, things are starting to get tough in D2. The opportunity for us to introduce you to the clubs that make up Group 2 and that many of you have already crossed paths with at least once in your VFian career.



Let's quickly move on to two clubs: RC Preseau and Kaborraz FC. The political and financial crisis that has affected the football sector in Brazil has not spared them. When the championship resumed, both clubs were without a coach. One would have left with the cash register and the president's wife, the other preferred to reconvert to lemur farming. The few supporters still attached to these two clubs will have only one hope in mind: that the infamy of relegation will be avoided for them. Mission almost impossible, let's admit it.

In this group, it is therefore upwards that we must look.

Let's start with a club we know well, Allemagne ¤LV¤.

With fourteen years of presence at the top level, the toto club will be to be taken seriously. We know him well, because we have him in our relationship but also because we played him many times in D3 two seasons ago. After a tricky start to the championship 1 draw, 1 defeat, the club of the young Maitoga is now fully focused on the league following its elimination in the 1/8 finals of the league cup against... Well, our club. Sorry toto! Fun fact, the club does not currently have any German players. And yet, in Brazil...



We continue with the legendary club of the Deleted club, coached by Jujulanulle. Many observers agree that it will take another short season for this club to fully start a new cycle. It's a good thing, a victory in D2 would coincide perfectly with the new momentum to come... But for that, it will be necessary to show more consistency throughout the championship (1 win, 1 loss). After the stampede of the first game – seven pawns in the bag all the same – the exhausted Hawaiian warriors still managed to win their second game hands down and to the great surprise of all the cardiologists in the country. There is no doubt that Peinado, 22 years old, has been able to remobilize his team despite his young age.



They are the Yakuza Bengals ¤LV¤
by Steven Bonneville, which suffered from the revival of the Hawaii Warriors. One of the youngsters of the group, with "only" eight years of VF under his belt, can boast of fielding an A team that makes no one laugh in D2, while having a young team ready to take over next season.

The young South Korean goalkeeper Pak
is considered one of the best in the world in his position. The Yakuza Bengals will need him in top form to lock down the defense and increase their strength in this championship (1 win, 1 loss).



Things may be a little more complicated for Les bons amis [~CP~], trained by Mouss. Not that the coach's talent is called into question, but simply because the team is visibly in a generational trough. Be careful not to look down on Good Friends, however, they have already demonstrated their ability to be a bit of a scratch for others (1 win, 1 loss). There is no doubt that nuggets like Francis Tokplé will find their way into the ruthless world of top-level football.



The least Brazilian of the clubs present here, namely the Skjoldvegg SK ¤LV¤ of yours truly, is also the youngest among all the competitors. However, the opponents will have to be wary and approach the matches without complacency in order to keep the Icelanders out of their way (1 win, 1 draw). Experienced players like the Colombian Velasquez are expected to bring grinta and experience to a team whose average age remains young, while playing on both sides, as the quarter-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue are approaching.



There is still a natural favourite who stands out in this group. It is the LR ¤ Fortaleza.FC ¤, coached by Minidgir. Candidate for the title and promotion to D1 with odds of 1.25, the club of the Chinese superstar Tingzhuo is fielding a formidable team in the prime of its life. There is no doubt that if the armada is properly renewed, the team will be a long-term part of the landscape of the highest level for many seasons. Despite a small hiccup in the opening match, the team seems to reach its cruising speed very quickly and is already in first place (2 wins, 1 draw). However, it will be necessary to manage the squad for the quarter-finals of the Coupe de la Ligue, for which Fortaleza FC qualified hands down.



It is therefore a beautiful season that is coming, made up of great moments, frustrations, doubts, joys, rises in seum... in short, emotions to experience.
