I propose adding a system of player personality and mentality to Virtual Football Manager. Each player would have a unique personality that would influence their behaviour on and off the pitch. For example, some would be leaders, others more discreet, arrogant, ambitious or emotional. These traits impact on their reaction to the coach's decisions, their performance after a defeat or their ability to withstand pressure. An emotional player might lose confidence after a bad mark, while an arrogant player might complain if they don't get a starting place. As in Football Manager 2024, each player could have one or more positive or negative personality traits, such as "professional", "ambitious" or "fair play" for the good profiles, and "nonchalant", "individualistic" or "very unprofessional" for the more complicated to manage. The coach will therefore need to adapt his management style to each player: talking privately with some, motivating others or, on the contrary, putting pressure on them. Affinities or tensions could also arise between players, creating clans or strengthening team cohesion depending on their character. This would make management of the dressing room much more strategic. Personality could also influence progression: a hard-working young player would progress faster, while a lazy talent could stagnate without support. This system would add a real human dimension to the game, and encourage players to build a balanced team, based not just on statistics, but also on human profiles. It would be a huge step forward in making VFM even more realistic, lively and immersive.

Develop your idea, which I think is unfeasible on the game

If that's what you're really looking for, there's FM25, I think, which would meet your criteria
Unfortunately you have to pay for it, but it's a very good game and I'd recommend it

This would make it possible to differentiate between players, because at the moment the 'big players', apart from those formatted for a particular style of play or set of instructions, are often 'twin brothers' or 'Siamese twins'.
But in other competing VF games where this exists, these player characters either have no real impact or are real gasworks.
If they were to be implemented in VF, they would need to be carefully thought through and not just dropped in without any consideration of the pros and cons, particularly to avoid making it too complicated for new players to understand.

Mich', how do you expect him to develop these comments further if a distinguished man like you immediately asserts the unfeasibility of such an idea? As far as I know, only Aymeric, as Webmaster, can make such statements, but knowing his genius, he will, as always, demonstrate his talent to get closer to the idea or do more.

It was mentioned earlier in a topic that game management was limited outside of matches. So this topic is a good thing, to make management more dynamic over a 24-hour day.
We're counting on your invaluable experience to provide food for thought.

I can't wait for the day when it will be possible for the wife of goalkeeper X to have sex with midfielder Y... with suitable profiles, of course, such as Don Juan, Stallion or alcoholic (that one's for my players) ^^

It's been suggested many times, I think, but never accepted.

Maintes fois proposé il me semble, mais jamais accepté.

Frankly, I think it's possible to add a personality system to VFM, you just have to explain how. For example, to know if a player is emotional, violent or whatever, you could base it on several simple things that are already in the game or that are easy to add. For example, a player who often gets red or yellow cards can be said to be aggressive or impulsive. A player who never accepts a place on the bench or who grumbles when you send him off can show that he's arrogant or has trouble with authority. A youngster who progresses quickly without you forcing him, he's probably hard-working or ambitious. And another with great potential but who stagnates, perhaps he's lazy or lacks seriousness.

You can also imagine that some players get on well with each other, depending on their personality, and others don't, like small groups in the dressing room. And when the team loses one game after another, some will hold their heads high, others will give up mentally. As a result, the coach will have to adapt to each player: motivate, talk in private, put pressure on... just like in Football Manager 2024, where each player has a positive or negative personality trait (like "professional", "ambitious", or on the contrary "nonchalant", "individualistic").

It would make squad management more realistic, not just 'I'll line up the best stats'. And I don't think it would upset the balance of the game, on the contrary, it would add a real human strategy. It's not just a pretty face, it could really improve the game and make the difference with other managers.

The problem also lies in the fact that not all players have 100% knowledge of the game. I speak for myself too.
Why add more tactics/techniques to the game if the existing ones haven't been mastered?
If everyone could claim to know all the tricks of the trade, why not? But I doubt it.
