To those who believe that the only way to prevent the changes made to the MDM from being reversed is to threaten to leave the game,

To those who seek to impose their will on the rest of the active players by speaking on their behalf, using the weight of their reputation or seniority,

To those who dismiss out of hand any possibility of adapting to the strategic evolution of a game designed for the widest possible audience and not for the enjoyment of a minority,

To those who think they can reduce competitiveness on the French server to a frantic exchange of tactical changes, down to the second, in order to exploit a probabilistic game engine,

To those who consider themselves to have more legitimacy than the game’s creator, a newcomer or a less active manager,

Shame on you.

If the VF community has been torn apart for so long, with only brief lulls in between, it is because of this unhealthy competition that goes beyond the very bounds of reason, and not because of the person who has been maintaining this game since 2006.

The current debates betray a desire for the status quo on the part of those who, by virtue of their status, ought to be campaigning for an honest and clear-sighted reform of the MDM in the face of modern threats, even if this means the disappearance of an old world with which they have, until now, been content.

To speak of a loss of enjoyment, a disruption or an inconvenience, when it is the very foundation of the game that is at risk, is a sign of shocking selfishness.

No one is saying that these changes will be permanent. But by reacting in this way, by claiming to speak unequivocally, you are excluding from the debate all those who support not the outcome but the intention, and confirming that your interest is linked solely to your ability to adapt to change.

Whatever decisions are taken in the coming weeks on this matter, the sense of revulsion remains.
