3 dias atrásGood evening!
I think this has already been suggested, but I can’t find it on the VFo. As far as I can remember, it was suggested during an audio chat, but I’d prefer to put it in writing just to be sure.
I’m simply suggesting a random draw for the rounds.
Already, in the Champions League and the VFFA, the full draw is known from the outset. Perhaps it would be a good idea to have a random draw for each round? The excitement of the draw the following morning, the surprise, and so on.
Furthermore, in the LdC (and I imagine in the VFFA too), the current process means you can systematically face the same group opponent again if they also win their round of 32 match. I think that’s a shame.
Mind you, this is just my personal opinion. The idea had been put forward before and didn’t seem to meet with any opposition, so I’m putting it forward again.

+1.
Above all, to avoid always having to play the same opponent in the group stage.

3 dias atrásI totally agree – the prospect of playing the same group opponent again so soon isn’t great, in my opinion!
And the element of chance involved in waiting for the draw is nice!

39 horas atrásThe fact that the draw is known in advance isn’t a problem.
I’d even go so far as to say it’s a good thing, as it gives everyone an idea of what their future path might look like
However, at the moment, the only thing that’s a bit of a nuisance is that the two clubs from the same group automatically end up in the round of 32 if they win their first-round matches
The solution seems simple to me: it would simply be a matter of ensuring that the winners of the odd-numbered groups (1, 3, 5, etc.) were placed in the top half of the final draw (the first 16 matches of the Round of 32) and the runners-up from the odd-numbered groups were placed in the bottom half (the last 16 matches of the Round of 32), and so on,
That way, it’s straightforward: two clubs from the same group could not face each other again until the final.
This would result in:
1st in Group 1 – 2nd in Group 17
1st in Group 18 – 2nd in Group 2
1st in Group 3 – 2nd in Group 19
1st group 20 – 2nd group 4
etc.,......
xxxxxx
xxxxxxx
1st group 17 – 2nd group 1
1st group 2 – 2nd group 18
etc....
