3 dias atrásGalywat: Il y aurait moyen pour les équipes créées pour l'événement de la coupe du monde, d'avoir accès aux maillots de la sélection en question ?
Hi,
I suppose so, but I can’t do that; only Aymeric can.

J'imagine que oui, seulement je ne peut pas faire cette manipulation, seul Aymeric peut faire ça .
That works. I’ll submit the request again once we have access to the teams; I reckon that’ll be soon :p

1 horas atrásGreat work, Alex!
Just so you know, amidst all the political madness surrounding this World Cup, with just three days to go before the tournament kicks off, Haiti has been forced to redesign their shirts... because FIFA, or rather Gianni Infantino, felt they were too political.
(I’ll leave you to look it up; there are plenty of sources covering it)
The issue was the design on the shirt:

The design which refers / referred to the Battle of Vertières, the founding act of Haiti’s independence, which pitted the indigenous army against Napoleon’s colonial forces following the reintroduction of slavery.
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bataille_de_Verti%C3%A8res
It is worth recalling that this revolutionary act made Haiti the first black republic to gain independence whilst freeing itself from slavery (1804).
Well, to round off the story, let’s note that Napoleon made them pay dearly by demanding a staggering debt… to compensate the slave-owning colonists (!). A debt that prevented the newly independent country from taking off economically for a century, or even two.

I realise that although factual, recounting history can just as easily be considered ‘too political’ these days.
The admins are free to moderate my comments if they wish.
As for the shirt, it is up to the official VF authorities (Aymeric, Alex) to decide whether to remove the image of the Battle of Vertières and thus bring it into line with reality, or to leave it as it is.
