I played my 3rd VFFA cup match on 26 July.
I played my round of 32 match on 2 August
Today is 8 August and there are still matches from the round of 32 that have not yet been played and I don't know when my 1/16 and the following rounds will be scheduled...
and I've already started my championship

fortunately I'm in a very small group in the league, which normally won't handicap me, but I'm thinking of those who are in a more complicated league than me, or for me in the seasons to come...

Is it deliberate to mix up all the competitions for a whole season?

Or could the calendar be improved so that there's no collusion between the cup and the league?

Personally, I only have 15 competitive players to play for my senior team, and I don't have the budget to have more, not to mention the injured and suspended players...

There is no rule stating that VFFA matches must be played before the start of the championship, nor that they must be spaced out by any period of time.
It is not impossible that the 16th, 8th and quarter-finals will be played over 3 days.

As far as I know, the next round of cup can't be scheduled as long as all matches of the current round haven't finished, and it looks like the final one of the current round for VFFA Challenge cup is scheduled for tonight at 8 pm, so I guess that the schedule for the next round (1/16) will be "announced" relatively soon after that game, but not sure.
