When a club leaves its league, there's an extra amount to cover its departure.
How is this amount chosen? On what criteria?
Example I was in Belgian D3 last season and finished 2nd in my league with 35 points.
As there was a departure in a division higher than mine, the amount was going to be the 4 D3 champions + 1 other club. I thought that this other club was the best 2nd of the 4 groups of 3.
Not so for me! I finished best 2nd with 35 points and this club UR NAMUR -H- finished 2nd best 2nd with 32 points but didn't go up either.
The club that finished 2nd in its league went up Lowlow14 FC
This is just to understand how things work in this particular case!
