A new sporting feature is now available on Virtuafoot. It's not a collective characteristic linked to the team, or even an individual characteristic linked to the player, but a 'hybrid' characteristic that links two players together: the affinity rate.
This figure, which ranges from 0 to 100%, starts at 0% when two players are in the same team, then gradually increases when the two players play matches together. A player can only have affinities with players playing in the same line as him (defence, midfield, attack).
There may be cases where a player is alone on his line, as is the case with goalkeepers or top forwards. In this case, this mechanism does not apply. The player will have a score equivalent to 100% affinity with his team-mates (we are generally in harmony with ourselves), but each minute played will not contribute to improving his links with his team-mates.
During a match, a player's average affinity rate with his team-mates playing on the same line has an impact on his individual score, in a way similar to what physical fitness already does.
On a day-to-day basis, you can view the affinity rate of your players on the Tactics screen in two ways:
- An overview by selecting a starting player. A colour-coded graph gives you a quick idea of the affinities developed by your players.
- A detailed view, via the player drop-down menu, where you can see useful additional information: the date when two players last played together.
Indeed, if two players do not play together for a long time, the affinity they would have developed by playing gradually deteriorates. During a transfer, the affinity developed by a player is lost, even if he later reunites with one of his team-mates at another club.
Initially, this statistic will have little impact on player grades in matches, but it will gradually increase.
