I'm starting my research in France but I'd like to go to certain towns in the centre of the country but on the phone I can't move the map or find the towns directly. Is this normal?

You need to go down "towards" the centre manually, because you don't have all the cities, just a small sector around the current city... you start from Paris, so in "change city"... you choose the arrow that goes south and you go towards a city and so on until you reach your destination ;)

Wow, it's going to be a long journey, fortunately I don't want to go to Marseille🤣
