Hello,
It's off to the races for season 139: the Asian VFIFA selections will battle it out and try to take over from authentik54's Australia Blue Samurai [N-E]

The tournament format is identical to that of our American colleagues: a mini championship, with single matches to be organised in a random location.
There are 7 of us taking part, so there are 6 matches to be played.
What a pleasure to meet everyone and not be divided into different groups.
Although the deadline for the competition is the last day of the season, i.e. Friday 28 March, don't hesitate to contact us by message as soon as possible to organise your matches.
You will have noticed that Paul Arkajyoti, the Indian manager/coach, is an English speaker. That's why I've put INDIA and not INDE.
I've also decided to make the tournament table in English (as the images are not automatically translated).

Please post your match links on this topic. (I'm not on Discord)
The table will be updated according to my IRL availability.
Don't hesitate to bring your nation to life through role-play, and to create a bit of atmosphere with respect and fair play.
Have a good tournament!

I have a small question. Clamssi and I are playing in the league on 17/02, could the league match be used as a competition match for this tournament as well? That would save us having to schedule a match and we both agree, but we'd prefer to have the organiser's opinion for his agreement if that's possible
Thank you in advance

Note : I don't know if it's worth following, because as you can see, there are only 3 ... and of the 3, there are 2 corner kickers.
Admittedly, there have been 3 penalties in the competition so far.
But when the matches are in 2D, the replay bugs me, and when they're in text, well, it's not always specified :/
Like: "what's-his-name receives the ball in the box and takes a shot" => aha yeah ok, thank you lazy commentator!

Azerbaijan rack up a string of victories to top the table. Clamsii, unfortunate finalists in the last continental edition (defeat on penalties), confirm their status as favourites.

don't worry, participating is already a victory! It's a game in the game, probably the most difficult way of playing this game (players are expensive, you must grow your club faster, make long term choices etc). But I love playing these cups

19 days agoHello everyone, today I contacted the 3 managers I still have to face, I've had a lot to deal with IRL over the last two weeks which meant that VF was a lightning round for me every other day.
I've suggested to everyone that from Wednesday I'm available on the day and at the time you want, I can play 3 matches in 3 days if need be I'll adapt to each of you, I apologise for those I've left unanswered at times,

10 days agoHello,
Just a reminder, this is a mini-championship, there are no knockout stages afterwards. The deadline for matches was the end of the season/end of the month.
IRL first and foremost! It wasn't "compulsory" to put a bit of pressure on Maxence/Japan, who played 3 games in 3 days :/

MACAO - LAOS or the match of shame!
After a boat trip, I'd already lost 3 players on this maritime journey: the poor guys were seasick and couldn't stop throwing up.
When we arrived at the hotel, we organised a little jog... but my players' motivation wasn't there...
<< It's all right coach, we're out of the competition, we've got nothing left to play for... give us some free time before the match ...>>
Out of weakness and naivety, I agreed. What a mistake I made!
Half an hour before kick-off, many of my players had still not returned to the hotel.
I then received a rather threatening phone call.
It was the mafia, the Chinese triads! In 2 hours of free time, my players had racked up staggering debts at the casino !!!
(Macau, a former Portuguese colony which later became a free port, is world famous for its casinos)
The deal was clear: my players were being held hostage!
To clear the debt, I had to field 2 non-registered players (a Malaysian and a Colombian) in order to forfeit the match to the VFIFA authorities (the triads who had bet on this improbable event would be reimbursed via these famous rigged bets).
I was devastated, we were still in the running for the fair play trophy, but I had no choice, the life of my youngest player was at stake if I didn't comply ....
That's how, at half-time, I saw my players relax and I was able to make some changes (at very specific times, again for the sake of betting).
➡️ 1-0 forfeit and 2 red cards (1 for each foreign player lined up) + a personal fine imposed by the VFIFA 😐

The competition is over!
All the matches were played on time, and as the organiser, I'd like to thank you for that.
This season saw the participation of two new nations represented in the VFIFA.

Admittedly, Paul was a little disappointed not to record any victories, but with 2 points, it was a respectable performance for a first-timer, and he avoided the last place in the competition.
There is no doubt that the affinity between their respective players will grow stronger as the VFIFA competitions progress, and I wanted to publicly welcome them to this virtual adventure.

10 days agoEmualliug: On pouvait clairement se rejouer le match face à cette triade 🤣
Yes, I know you agreed ...
But I've run out of money, and I've mortgaged the house to pay off the debts ... so it'll be fine ^^
(In truth, I made a mistake, I'll accept it. And now I've got a bit of time to devote to the tournament and all that was left was our match. I'm not sure I'd have had time to make little texts and pictures at the end of the month)

Japan and Azerbaijan finish neck and neck with just 1 yellow card in 6 matches!
But Japan's self-sacrifice in playing 3 matches in 3 days to finish the competition is to be commended.

A country where a day off is simply called night.

The Fair Play trophy naturally goes to Maxence97300.

Japan have not conceded a goal in 6 games ! ... NONE !!!
If Maxence97300's team are the only unbeaten nation at this tournament, they owe it all to Kenko Kanashi, aka the double K.
K. Kanashiki
Japan's last line of defence was breathtaking, only 24 years old but with a coolness and maturity that already places him among the best VFIFA goalkeepers.

With Kenko in goal, Maxence can rely on a man he can trust for the upcoming competition. If the forwards raise their game, the results should follow, and the land of the rising sun will be dreaming of future titles.

He topped the scorers' charts: 6 goals in 6 games!
I. Närimanov
Iqrar Närimanov, who plays a pivotal role at the front, stretches opponents' attacking lines and makes himself available to his team-mates.

His undermining work and thunderous strikes have made a major contribution to Azerbaijan's continental title success.
The fans were not mistaken, singing his praises: << His name is Iqrar ... a bastard shot! >>

What an edition! What a show this VFIFA Asian Cup season 139 has put on.
Clamsii's Azerbaijan, unfortunate finalists in the previous edition, were announced as favourites. But their first match ended in defeat at the hands of an excellent Japan, which immediately sowed doubts in the coach's mind.
By winning the VF Asian League Cup (https://www.virtuafoot.com/#coupe?cid=17769), Clamsii boosted his confidence and was able to mobilise his troops.
after a 3-1 win over Laos, a 3-0 victory over Vietnam, and a hard-fought match against Turkey that ended in a 1-0 victory, Clamsii's charges were back on track.
Maxence's Japan, with their good results, kept up the pressure.
The result was decided in stoppage time against a Macau team that was very determined. A goal in the 93rd minute gave Azerbaijan the last 3 points in their quest for the title.
The fans go wild!
that's it, the VFIFA Asian Cup will stay in the Republic of the Caucasus for a season... just long enough for a World Cup.

What emotions!
It's not a cheap title, as some people might say.
Got it? low cost = Baku
Congratulations Clamsii!!!
Real scenes of jubilation are taking place all over the country.
Horns honking in every street, improvised fireworks in the squares.
They've done it!
It's madness in Azerbaijan: just two weeks after winning the title, maternity wards are already registering 139 babies named Clamsii ... and 19 little Iqrar (the name of the star striker).
Rumours are rife, and it is rumoured that after being made a 'knight of the nation' by the President, Clamsii obtained an oil concession in his name, guaranteeing him a pension for life.
Well done Clamsii!
PS: well done to all the participants and see you soon at the VFIFA World Cup!
