After browsing a few beginners' club files, it seems that we're dealing with a general bug affecting all leagues.
I suppose that when a club enters a league and the system creates a new division, it starts by creating group 0.|/b]
This group 0 is quite often only visible on the club form, not on the league page. When I say often enough, I mean that sometimes it's visible, but only when group 0 is alone (it doesn't always seem to be).
What's certain is that once there are more registrants and Group 1 is created, Group 0 is invisible on the championship page.
I have no idea whether this hampers promotions, but you'd have to follow some clubs over a season or two.
All this is just a guess from my perspective as a simple manager, I don't know if you can see more as an administrator.
I hope that the MDJ can devote some of his time to investigating and resolving this bug.
