A ceremony lasted a few minutes before the whistle blew for this edition. However, it succeeded in presenting the continent as much as a culture, as the motherland of all civilisations.
This is an event that means more than football matches. It is a crossroads of 16 nations sharing the same emotions.
GROUP A
ALGERIA vs ZIMBABWE: On the 5 July stadium (pronounced jwilia by Fennecs fans), the Greens who are also the organisers of this CAN. They welcomed the Warriors in their 1st match. Without much ado, the visitors adopted an attacking style from the very first second. A well-centreed free-kick found Marufu's head and the 1st goal. The Greens still hadn't woken up and the referee sent MDC Nemdil to the dressing room for a dangerous tackle. The story did not end there, as Marufu was able to double the lead before missing 2 more chances. Algeria's 1st reaction came in the 30th minute with a shot into the stands. The 1st half ended 2-0 to Zimbabwe.
The 2nd half began with different choices. Despite being outnumbered and 2 goals down, the Greens went in with one goal in mind, and that was to get back on level terms. 15 minutes was enough to score the 1st goal with a free kick well sent by Papin to the corner where the devil settled. And because pressure creates mistakes. The fennecs managed to get a penalty well taken by Papin. Final score: ALGERIA 2-2 ZIMBABWE
GUINEA vs MALI: The 2nd match in this group saw the Malian eagles take on Guinea. The 30 seconds brought joy to the eagles as Kamissoko scored one of the fastest goals of this version. 15 minutes later, Kamissoko came back to score the 2nd with a powerful shot from distance. The remaining time was well managed until the final whistle. Final score: **GUINEA 0-2 MALI
**GROUP B
GREEN CAP vs RWANDA: Armed with their experience from the previous edition. Rwanda started the match strongly despite Cape Verde's timid attempt. Obviously, creating chances increases the possibility of scoring

Day 2 of the African Cup of Nations is upon us and each team has a different dream...
**GROUP A
ZIMBABWE 4-1 GUINEA: Both nations are coming off modest results. And so it begins! Right from the start, an open game began with a Guinean goal by Junior. However, the confused Zimbabwean coach made changes after the 1st quarter of an hour. He was right because a phenomenal comeback had just begun, first by the scorer Marufu and 3 goals in the 2nd half including one signed by the man of the match Amidu.
MALI 0-3 ALGERIA: Although Mali are suffering in this edition, the Algerians tried to confirm their brilliance in the 1st match. This time, the Malian cage was the only direction by cashing 3 GOALS marked by a new Buteur BELLATAR who plays well at the back of the defence, without forgetting the expulsion of Konta which impacted hard on the eagles.

**GROUP B
RWANDA 0-0 BENIN: supposedly the 2 qualifiers in this group. It was a tight, balanced match, with Benin taking the initiative to surprise the Rwandans. Unfortunately, it was a goalless draw between the two teams.
EQUATORIAL GUINEA 2-0 CAPE VERDE: This was an opportunity to stifle the top 2 teams in the group. Both sides got off to a good start, especially the Blue Sharks who created a number of chances, until the 68th minute when ABAGA managed to score a fine Goal following some teamwork, confirmed by a 2nd Goal almost in the same way and by the same ABAGA.

**GROUP C
GABON 1-0 MALAWI: the Team that lives in pink by achieving 6 points without any effort, precisely, on paper for NOT respecting the call-up within 24 hours before the game.
ANGOLA 4-1 KENYA : Correction of the course for the Angolans, we keep the suspense in the 3rd day. Coming back to this match, the Red & Blacks dominated the match from the 1st minute by opening the score with the striker of the evening MAQUEMBA who was able to leave his mark with a hat-trick and a 4th signed by Quitombe. However, the Kenyans scored their only goal of the match.

**GROUP D
DR CONGO 0-1 SENEGAL: Unfortunately, DRC was another victim of the failure to respect the deadline for calling up selected players, which led to a defeat by the Lions of Teranga.
LIBYA 0-3 MOROCCO: the real proof for the 2 North African nations. A North African clash showed the big difference in the quality of the players in the two teams. A series of wasted chances, before Fouad managed to open the scoring followed by a confirmation from Bouhout. The festival was rounded off by a sprint from Sanaf and a powerful shot in the 88th minute.

GROUP A:

ALGERIA 0-0 GUINEA : it turns out that the 2 coaches' misreading of the game led them to call the fourth referee early on to make changes during the first 20 minutes only. These changes had a positive impact in the last 10 minutes of the 1st half and at the start of the 2nd half. Another wave of changes came to nothing, and a goalless draw meant the Fennecs booked their ticket to the next round.

ZIMBABWE 1-0 MALI: An open game, although the low score does not reflect the fighting spirit and the number of chances created. Quite simply, it was a tactical war throughout the game, with the brilliance of Amidu, man of the match and scorer of the only goal.

GROUP B:

GREEN CAP 0-0 BENIN: Despite the high calibre of the players who make up the Benin team, the level of the latter did not satisfy the prospects of its supporters. Another fruitless match for the Blue Sharks, who are suffering from incomprehensible bad luck. Cape Verde's Sa did everything but put the ball in the net, while Benin's forward line was timid and incapable.

RWANDA 2-0 EQUATORIAL GUINEA: I've just come from saying that Rwanda learnt a lot from their participation in the previous edition. A stable level of a homogeneous team managed by a coach who has found consistency. Tonight's match went in one direction only

Well done to the qualifiers. Disappointed to have missed the boat on the first day and not to have a match on the 3rd day for once that I could have followed the match (the second day, Being sick, I slept and my team could not do anything).
Kenya hopes to return next season and show a better image.

FABIOA: Bravo aux qualifiés. Déçu d avoir raté le coche sur la première journée et de ne pas avoir de match sur la 3eme journée pour une fois que j'aurai pu suivre le match (la deuxième journée, Étant malade, je dormais et mon équipe n'a rien pu faire ).
Le kenya espère revenir la saison prochaine et montrer une meilleure image.

I'm the coach of Gabon.
In fact, this Africa Cup of Nations is the first one I've taken part in and I'm very proud of what I've achieved. Despite an easy start... but in the end I showed that my team could make its contribution.
First of all, I'm very happy with the organiser, Raito, who is here to ensure that the CAN is a success. Next.... I'll let you watch
