5 month agoReview of my presidency of the Gabonese Football Federation:
On 17 June, I had the honour of being elected President of the Gabonese Football Federation, becoming the first African to hold this position. It was a historic victory, won handily against a European opponent.
*Cleaning up and reforming
Right from the start, I took some tough decisions. I put an end to selection based on the value of bonuses, in favour of merit. Players worthy of wearing the Gabonese jersey took the place of those chosen for dubious reasons, in this case to benefit from bonuses. This policy, although contested by some managers, has been a pillar of my presidency: merit above all.
Total commitment:
Under my leadership, the Gabonese national team played at least 7 matches per season, a minimum never achieved before. I was present at 100% of the matches, offering rigorous management and constant monitoring.
Betting on the future:
I opted for a complete overhaul of the squad, integrating new talent despite the immediate impact on affinity and results. This strategy of "falling back in order to leap forward" reflects our long-term vision. A vision that amateur managers, opportunists and Sunday fans will not assimilate.
Creation of the CAN :
Out of love for Africa, I initiated and ran a new international competition: the African Cup of Nations (CAN). The event was a success, and I'm proud that the Gabonese FA can add it to its list of honours.
Facts and figures:
season 135:_ Participation in the 1ʳᵉ edition of the CAN with a team of young talent. 5 points from 7 games (24% of possible points). I also decided to support managers training young Gabonese players, thus preparing for the future.
season 136:_ Continued with my meritocratic selection policy (systematically rejecting players put forward to me by managers chasing bonuses), and continued to improve my youngsters' game with a similar result: 24% of points obtained.
season 137 :*_ The hard work finally paid off. The Gabonese Panthers picked up 3 wins and 1 draw, with no defeats. Result: 83% of points obtained (at the time of writing)
Handover and future:
Today, I'm handing over the reins to a new president. He will benefit from the solid foundations I have built. I wish him every success and hope he lives up to expectations. *However, if necessary, I won't shy away from the idea of coming back to correct any mistakes that may have been made
my next challenge? To clean up another African federation with the same determination
To all the managers and supporters, thank you for your support. Long live the Gabonese Football Federation, and long live Africa!

5 month agoCongratulations on a job well done. I would like to thank you, President, for having placed your trust in me by appointing me as coach of this magnificent federation. Thanks to your confidence in me this season 137, I have managed to win 3 and draw 1 of my 4 matches. This federation deserves to be managed by Africans like us because we know the value of being African and I believe that the person who deserves to manage this Gabonese federation with love is an African.

5 month agoI see that my candidacy for the Gabonese federation has provoked a reaction from its eminent president. So I'm going to set the record straight on two points in his speech, which is full of lies.
He starts by boasting about the number of games he has played. He has played 7 games in a season, a record he has never achieved. For this fine lie, he uses VF's empty display: in fact, no display is currently available before season 134. I have systematically played 7 to 8 matches every season of my presidency.
However, for the pleasure of your eyes and to illustrate his great record, I offer you a visual of the last season in which matches were played: season 134.
image](https://i.imgur.com/K8eI0V3.jpeg)
You can check for yourself: the last match was played on 20 June, against Spain. I remember, because I was the one who scheduled it. For the record, he was elected on the 17th. Everyone can also check that on 20 June, we were not yet halfway through the season. So I had scheduled 4 matches before the halfway point of the season. What did this immense president do for the rest of his first season? That's a mystery. In any case, he didn't schedule a single match.
The president goes on to talk about the major clean-up he has undertaken on this gangrenous federation. Since he didn't play any matches, he concentrated on something else: naturalising players from his friends' association. And yes, two naturalised players became Gabonese. And they played and still play for clubs in the outgoing president's former cartel. They are :
- Daniel Cousin (who was renamed just to give the player a bit of credibility). A support striker now aged 29. No doubt chosen to prepare for the future ....
- Kevin Rivalland, a full-back now aged 25. He made me laugh a lot at the time, because full-backs are THE position in which Gabon was superbly well endowed. In fact, even today, you can see that it's not an essential need, just by counting the better full-backs than him.
image](https://i.imgur.com/PfIuhKp.jpeg)
Following these two naturalisations, Aymeric quickly stopped naturalised players from being selected, which put an end to the process.
I wouldn't know about the other results he's so proud of. Gabon has indeed achieved results this season. And for that I congratulate the president and his coach. Unfortunately, I applied for the job before he started winning a match. However, I'd like to come back to the comment made by the current coach. I have only one thing to say: it's racist. It wouldn't occur to me to say that this or that federation deserves to be led by a European, an Asian or an African. I just want every federation to be run by a manager who doesn't play by the rules and who will develop it.
In short, I'll see what the results of this election are. I hope it will be clean.

5 month agoHaha, African-style politics, speeches full of lies, embezzlement of money to enrich cronies, anti-white (or pro-black so as not to offend anyone) rhetoric, there's no doubt about it!
I never thought I'd see this on VF, it's fascinating, but almost scary!
I can't wait to see what happens to Gabon in this game, which has just become e-politico-sporting

Hâte de voir ce qu'il adviendra du Gabon sur ce jeu, nouvellement devenu e-politico-sportif ; c'est donc ça le web 3.0 ?! ^^
Ah, it's easy to throw around clichés about African politics and describe it as 'politics of lies', isn't it? Defending a friend is all very well, but there's a limit to what you can do. Show a bit of respect for the African community!

You point out Nicularo's lack of respect, okay, so far I'm with you. But you're forgetting that of the coach above, who does exactly the same thing by labelling non-Africans as people who have no values or less than them or who aren't capable of understanding how to run a federation? It's less serious I suppose or I've probably misunderstood and, if so, mea culpa.
Generally speaking, I just think it's a shame, when you want to take a stand or respond to a message, not to analyse all the messages in the same way so as not to point the finger at the same problem.
Last post for me here, it doesn't really deserve any more. I've already reached my quota of time spent on the VForum today, so I need to keep a bit of strength to read AmirAll's 36 improvement projects :D

@Nicularo
It's astonishing to see the extent to which some Westerners always feel obliged to make amalgams about Africa and its politics, even in a simple game. Your speech reflects a deep-seated arrogance and a total lack of understanding of African realities.
First of all, automatically associating corruption and embezzlement with Africa is an outdated cliché, especially when you consider that the world's economic history is full of examples of Western powers plundering African resources and imposing systems of domination.
Secondly, to speak of "anti-white discourse" as if criticism of colonialism, neo-colonialism or global injustices were tantamount to a rejection of whites is absurd. This kind of rhetoric simply seeks to invalidate legitimate claims by caricaturing their authors.
Finally, for someone who says he's surprised to see this on Virtua Foot, perhaps you should ask yourself the following question: why do some people feel the need to talk about these subjects, even here? This game, like any space, is a mirror of society, and it's normal for social and historical concerns to be reflected in it.
So before you criticise condescendingly, I'd advise you to have a modicum of distance and humility. Not everything revolves around Europe or its standards.
