43 days agoIn the 1st round of this 27th edition, as usual, we were treated to some tight matches, high scores and surprises.
AS Pieds Nickelés won easily 3-0 against Choupetoski, a newcomer to the competition, who did them no favours.
The biggest score of the round went to teamouest, who beat Tchang Papadopoulos' Glaz Calcio by 6 goals.
A close match between OX35 FC and Fraï FC, won 0-1 by the latter, who made the most of a strong period in the middle of the match to find the net.
A goalless draw and qualification on penalties for Les Tauliers as they travelled to Vigilante Mayet, who once again failed to progress beyond the first round.
PEPSI, another of the competition's regulars, also qualified with ease, with Dynamo Pons17-Avenières38 winning 5-0 at Aubenas FC.
E.L bubu FC won 2-1 in a thrilling match of a very high standard and eliminated Jumaro34's Paris Saint Germain, who deserved better in this match but suffered from a fatal lack of composure when they failed to do more than reduce the deficit in the final minutes.
Krigsgaldr made it through the first round with a clean 2-0 win over AS Chauffailles.
It was harder for FC Loudun, who nonetheless beat patton fc by the slimmest of margins (0-1) in a match that should have been less anxiety-inducing for the visitors.
Celta Havana, like Krigsgaldr, managed the first round of matches brilliantly, winning 2-0 at home in an easy match against #club?uid=622105's U19s.
Casteljaloux FC won 3-0 and NoRulz took his side into the 2nd round after seeing off the youngsters from BOUNKILING JSB.
The second 0-0 draw of the round of 32 was between U.S.Groix and Spartak Crouzilles. Axel37 should have won the game in normal time, but in the penalty shoot-out it was the enez players who proved the more skilful. U.S.Groix, brilliant semi-finalists in the previous edition, are through to the second round by the narrowest of margins... but they are through nonetheless.
Thanks to their almost exclusive possession of the ball and their insolent attacking success, Neuviller ASFC won 3-0 at andypanda FC, but the scoreline does not really reflect the reality of the match.
After an hour of dominance, the Saint-Marcel players scored the only goal of the game and, thanks to this narrow victory at AS JEUNES TAHITIENS, progressed to the second round.
Zamwazam FC won easily at home (3-0) against G¤P FC Santa Coloma}~>.
MX We also won easily (4-0) against the Madagascans of AKAMA.
Drezzo35's first match in the Independents' Trophy was a tougher qualifier than expected, with a narrow 1-0 win in the opening minutes for Les Plaies Mobiles ~RTG~ against #match?mid=5946233.

33 days agoIn the 1/8 final, after a scare when teamouest opened the scoring (18th), AS Pieds Nickelés eventually won 2-1. The quarter-final hurdle did not last long, and José Mouridiot had a quieter evening: a 3-0 win against Les Tauliers.
E.L bubu FC (4-1) in the Round of 16 and then held off FC Loudun (1-1) to win 4-1 on penalties and reach the semi-finals.
In a very close match, Celta Havana scored the only goal of the game against Casteljaloux FC. In the quarter-finals, #club?uid=573056's elimination was more logical and easier (2-0) and Djac890 also took his team through to the semi-finals!
The big match between MX We and Les Plaies Mobiles ~RTG~ was won by the former (3-2), ending Drezzo35's first participation in this prestigious trophy. After another narrow 1-0 victory in stoppage time, despite dominating the entire game against Saint-Marcel, mxman will be back in the semi-finals.

30 days agoHello, PEPSI. Thank you for seeing me.
- This is your twelfth consecutive appearance in the Independents' Trophy and the only time you've reached the semi-finals you've won the tournament. Do you have the same objective this season or is this competition only secondary in a calendar that's starting to get busy with the resumption of the championships?
[You need to review your notes. The only time I reached the final was against .... Blagoje Vidinic and I lost on penalties 4-5 in the 25th trophy. (The trainee guilty of this embarrassing journalistic error for Megan has been sent on placement to the Ural Mountains, where everyone knows it's so nice to live between November and March)
- You're going to host AS Pieds Nickelés, who have dominated each of their previous opponents. Are you worried about this or do you have a plan to counter them?
[Apart from being one of my favourite comic strips when I was a kid, AS Pieds Nickelés is an excellent team that I've never won against. They always find themselves in the final stages of their tournaments. I need to find the tactics that will allow me to break them down. A tactic I haven't found yet. But I do have an idea. The trick is to find a weakness in a team that doesn't seem to have any!
[I've got some nude photos of our kamarad UncleOink on the beach at Makhatchkala, do you want to see them?
You can't look at photos of the great supreme soviet (even naked). It's something to be embarrassed about. But they must be worth their weight in rubles!
[Thank you, PEPSI!
[Hello, José. Thank you for seeing me.
- Everyone agrees that AS Pieds Nickelés is one of the leading teams in this competition, but you've only won it once (s.131) for three finals in fourteen appearances, and in recent seasons you've moved away from the Trophée des Indépendants. Is this linked to your chronic lack of success, to a certain weariness, or have you had other, more important projects?
[I don't mind being the flagship team in the Trophée des Indépendants, but it's true that the light of the ASPN lighthouse doesn't often shipwreck the clubs that flutter around in this competition. While bad luck may be one explanation, the main reason is that I have hardly ever fielded my senior team in this competition. With the Champions League, the League Cup and a league that starts before the TDI finishes, it's complicated to perform well everywhere. So my so-called poor performances in the past have to be put into perspective, kamarad journaliste.
That said, while the Tdi was never my priority until last season, this season it's my main objective. Any result other than the title would be a disappointment for us. Why would that be? Well, we left D1 Wales at the end of last season. As a result, we find ourselves in the African D6... with the result that the league matches are of no interest (except for the Butchers' Boys) and our club does not play in the League Cup. After yesterday's elimination in the last 8 of the Ldc, the only thing left for us to do at the start of the season is to put this Tdi in our clubhouse window
- In the semi-final, you played at PEPSI after three easy home games

16 days agoPEPSI and his protégés can be proud of themselves as they win the 27th edition of the Trophée des Indépendants!
After seeing off the favourites, José Mouridiot and his AS Pieds Nickelés, in a hard-fought match (1-1 xG : 0.951 - 1.31) that ended with a penalty shoot-out in which the last two nickel-footed marksmen failed to score (4 tab to 3), the players from Dynamo Pons17-Avenières38 were able to dispose of mxman's troops, who lost their second consecutive final in the competition, by the narrowest of scores but more than enough to keep them happy.
MX We then had a chance to get back into the game, but substitute Sami Akgöl hit the crossbar and Heyder Morales saved in extremis from Zico Estrocio's well-struck header (80th). PEPSI were on fire and were shaken for the rest of the match, but the die was cast and victory would not escape their side.
A first success in the competition that will undoubtedly be followed by many more!
