The rules remain the same as for the 4th edition, with one important innovation due to the ever-increasing number of active federations.
There will now be 12 qualifiers for the 2nd phase instead of 8.
Teams ranked 1 to 4 will qualify directly for the quarter-finals, while teams ranked 5 to 12 will go through to the qualifying 1/8 finals

The top 4 teams qualify for the quarter-finals,
The next 8 (ranked 5 to 12) will play a 1/8 final play-off
