i'm trying to get to the next level. is there a way for me to get to the next level quickly? or a way for me to maximise my level.

The only way is to win (or draw) games.
Each game gives you some points: as much as the VF index of your opponent (half if draw) on official competition and 3 points maximum on friendly game.
