I'm more used to commenting on this sort of thing. But it's time for those for whom the role of admin encroaches on their private lives to distance themselves from their duties. This vote you're proposing, So, I take it as "I want to continue but only if I have the community behind me" and that's commendable on your part. I hope you'll come out on top in the game.

It's worrying that some players feel their personal lives have been destabilised by a game. It's just as worrying that respected admins whose honesty has never been called into question are so easily destabilised because the boat is rocking. It's also proof that they need to take a step back and get back to the basics of the game. It's not normal, not healthy to say the least, for this voluntary work to be an ordeal.

It's also worrying that when certain players are worried, we get the impression that the whole community is in trouble. But that's just the tip of the iceberg, because the vast silent majority of this community hasn't called anyone to account, hasn't questioned anyone, and just wants to play on an equal footing with everyone else.

Even so, I understand why some admins have taken a step back. When you're too honest, you're bound to get personally involved in your mission, and that's where you go wrong. It's not a question of resigning or staying, but of respecting procedures. If you're a LR, you can't rule on problems related to a LR to avoid any conflict of interest. Similarly, when I was an administrator, I didn't rule on matters related to a member of my cartel. That's the problem with this case. Many of you in the anti-cheating community are part of the same cartel, and the fact that there is once again, as I understand it is often the case, a case involving one of your members, where you give the impression that you are defending that person at all costs, poses a serious problem of legitimacy. And don't tell me it's the LR, you'd be in another agreement for a case concerning a member of your agreement, it's the same thing.
That's where the problem lies. In the eyes of the community you don't appear to be integral and that's a real problem, because it inevitably generates conflicts of interest and suspicions of favouritism. And this affair is the last straw in a problem that has been dragging on for some time.

The field of anti-cheating is the most thankless job of any VF, I know, I've been there, even if it's a bit old now. And the slightest mistake can take on huge proportions. What you have to do is manage to keep an overview, and not have your head in the handlebars all the time.
I also think there's a communication problem, which is nothing new. Before, we knew why there were sanctions or not, we all knew what to expect. And there was a scale of penalties for each offence. This avoided unnecessary tension and any suspicion of favouritism, because everyone was on the same footing.
Rather than wondering whether you should resign or not, try instead to reform your system, to renew it so that this sort of thing doesn't happen again.

Each agreement in the game should choose a representative from its midst to propose to the anti-cheating admin team. I don't know how this thing should be set up, but maybe there should be a team of 3/4 of the most experienced anti-cheating admins and a dozen or so other members from various cartels (with an admin function) who would be consulted to judge matters inherent in the games. More (or less) debate on the transparency of admins and a healthier game.

At the time when Morten applied as an admin, some people forced him to leave his agreement, so I'd say my feeling would be to do the same with all admins.
