At the moment, when a player reaches the end of his contract and asks for a salary, the manager has no room for manoeuvre: he has to accept the amount requested or the extension is blocked. This limits the manager's room for manoeuvre.
The proposal is that each player would have an asking salary (e.g. 15k) and a negotiating range (e.g. 13k to 15k).
The manager can make an offer within this range.
The player automatically accepts if the offer is within the range or can negotiate more finely depending on the length of the contract...
