Last season, we had to wait a week to play a round in the league cup because of an entente cup followed by a friendly cup. With 10 members of the same entente in the league, I can't explain the hassle if there are competitions involved.

Cups no longer take the place of other matches, and haven't for a long time.
There was a correction made during an event cup, but it created such carnage that Aymeric cancelled the "correction".

So the cups don't shift the matches. This allows some to play with the dates, "imposing" their calendar. (I'm not saying that's the case here, I'm just explaining the elements)

A useful reminder: if friendly matches are wrongly scheduled in order to delay the cup matches, the administrators are authorised to replace them with the cup matches scheduled for that date.
