I think it's rather unusual that the clubs taking part in the Coupe de la Ligue are chosen at random in division 2 and division 3.
As the League Cups are official cups, they are rewarded with 500,000 for each round played. That's no mean sum for a club just starting out.
suggestion for improvement: take the ranking into account, of course.
PS: this proposal follows on from this subject (https://www.virtuafoot.com/#forum?topic=169282), where a club that finishes 2nd in D2 does not take part in the League Cup of its championship.

Hace 24hI think it's abnormal that not everyone can take part in their league's cup.
In Ireland, everyone can take part in the French Cup, it's up to the clubs, but everyone can sign up.
I'm in favour, but for everyone, at worst you complete the list with inactive players from the region.

Hace 22hIf clubs need to be excluded to maintain a League Cup with the appropriate multiplier to determine the number of participants, perhaps the manager's presence in the game should be taken as the basis, removing from the competition the clubs whose manager's last connection to VF was the furthest back in time.
