I'm soon going to get the Latvian federation. I've read the rules: a club with a team of the same nationality can only select 3 players from that club.

1st question:

Does the rule also apply if the president or coach has the same nationality?
Am I allowed to select more than 3 players for my club, or do I have to limit myself to 3?

If the answer is limited to 3.

Could you please explain why?

It's much easier to talk to yourself when organising a federation selection :-)

I imagine it's to limit abuse. Imagine someone with bad intentions selecting only his own players, and not necessarily the best. These players will benefit from the advantages of the federations and will also be paid.
In short, even if I don't understand the whole system, I can imagine that it can be easily abused if the rules are not respected

The coach can have 3 players from his club if his club is made up of single-nationality players.
Otherwise, he can only select one of his own players, as well as a single player from any other club.....unless it's a single-nation club in his squad :)

Besides, it's 5 players per agreement. So if you select 3 Latvians of your own, you can only take a maximum of two other Latvians from LV clubs (counting LV1 + LV2)

And if you take 3 of your Latvians, you won't get a selection bonus for those 3 players

If I don't make any money by selecting 3 players at home, why not increase the possibility, if the federation coach and the 100% nation coach are the same person, of being authorised to select 5 players? And 2 other players in my agreement.

Only change the limit of 3 players in this case. The more players I select at home, the less I'll bother other clubs.

J'ai l'impression que les matchs de fédérations se jouent souvent plus sur les périodes de coupes ou de championnats.

Et entre les matchs de championnats et de coupe, je dois faire jouer aussi mes jeunes.

As for the number of matches, you decide the schedule and the number of matches. So between 0 and 8 matches, spaced roughly 5 days apart, because you can't schedule a new match until you've finished the first one.

As for the playing time of your players before a federation match, whatever the physical condition of your players at club level, as long as you're not in the middle of a match with them at 9.55pm, they'll arrive in the federation at 100%. So there's no point in not fielding them in the league at 8pm if they have a federation match at 10pm.

Finally, as far as the advantages are concerned, you will benefit from any additional bonuses that you decide to put in place for your selected player (or players?), and which are paid out of the funds available in the federation's account. However, you won't get the automatic bonus for each player (around 400k per selection)
