4 dage sidenJe pense qu’il y a un vrai ras-le-bol concernant tous ces changements sur VF. À force de modifier beaucoup de choses, on a parfois l’impression de ne plus retrouver le jeu qu’on aimait.
Je comprends qu’il faille faire évoluer le jeu, mais peut-être faudrait-il prendre un peu de recul et écouter davantage les joueurs. L’objectif reste quand même de donner envie de jouer et de prendre du plaisir sur VF. 🙂

4 dage sidenJe viens de terminer un IE... mon dieu quel ennuie. Je gagne 1-0 en scorant à la dernière seconde, mais autrement quasiment le néant durant 90 min contre un afk. Obligé de bouger le moins possible pour ne pas perdre trop de stat. Bien en place défensivement, la possession pour moi et bien placé offensivement, mais il ne ce passe rien.
Heureusement c’était pendant l’apéro, ça m’a permis de ne pas m’endormir. Le même match à 22h, je pense voir le résultat le lendemain

- The match engine, the shop (a major new feature), the graphics…
Virtuafoot is 20 years old, it’s still going strong and is still being updated. Perhaps we should wait a little while for a response from Aymeric, who is regularly fine-tuning his game.

Nobody complains about changes when they’re well thought out, but your tunnel vision forces you to spout these big, fat clichés just to put yourselves above the fray.
Even the awful changes to the players’ faces haven’t drawn much comment.
But it’s funny – it’s always the least active people, who haven’t even understood what we’re on about, who take the liberty of doing this.

3 dage sidenGraphical improvements are all well and good, but nobody plays VF for the scenery. If the core of the game is broken – because it is – if at any point absolutely no one in the game is able to understand what’s going on between two matches against active players, then it’s badly designed – the visuals aren’t much of a consolation.

3 dage sidenThis is my personal view and I alone am responsible for it: guessing blindly at update timings is a bit of a problem. Of course, I’ll try to understand how it works so I can be as good as possible. But if there simply isn’t a ‘best time’, then I’ll just have to make do, and I think the best players will still (well, more often than not) come out on top regardless.
On the other hand, where I agree with you – though you don’t mention it in this post – is that the model presented here means we have to be online for 90 minutes non-stop, constantly making changes, even though the stated aim is exactly the opposite.
The only way for this model to reduce the frequency of changes is to put managers off following their matches. I doubt that’s THE right solution.
Now, to offer a solution to Aymeric, who’d like to ‘linearise’ the impact of tactical choices. I can’t see how this could be done at all, given that, whatever happens, if you don’t adapt your tactics to the opponent’s as quickly as possible, then obviously the opponent will gain the upper hand.
The obvious solution would be updates every 3 minutes (or more), as you mentioned. But perhaps we’re limiting our thinking too much?
Or perhaps stats that change gradually over 10 minutes? Instead of them being frozen for 10 minutes?

2 dage sidenI am speaking out once again to give a typical example of what lies in store for VF if nothing changes; this message reflects only my own views and those of my opponent today, with whom I consulted before sending it. This evening, I played against Gauthier, a member of the LR, who is second in the Entente D1 league table. I am a member of the Cercle and third in the D1 standings. What looked set to be a big match, decisive in the title race, ultimately came down to a coin toss, which I won thanks to a better ranking and better overall statistics.
Gauthier refused to play catch-up for an hour and a half, and that’s to his credit, because in the end, he could very well have won the match after the opening goal down the middle, where he was stuck. My aim here is to highlight once again the problem with these new features. Because once you’ve opened the scoring, whether it’s ‘deserved or undeserved’, you simply have to sit back and defend against your opponent’s attacks for the rest of the match, which prevents them from generating xG and thus from equalising. The very essence of VF is therefore being undermined by this principle.
