Over the years, we have seen the enthusiasm grow and the level of play reach new heights. Each season has been more intense than the last, with a new winner confirming the CAN's unique place in the VfB community.
Today, we're officially opening registration for the 7th edition. This is your chance to represent the colours of your nation, challenge the best African coaches and write a new page in this great adventure.
The competition promises even more spectacle, rivalry and emotion. Don't be a spectator: join the CAN and live the experience from the inside by being a player.

[First of all, I'd like to apologise for the delay due to a technical fault (my computer is being repaired).
But despite this! We were able to find a way (traditional but practical) to do the CAS for this edition. And yes, we are in Africa, land of wonders.
This year's event saw the participation of 14 federations divided into 3 groups:

41 dage siden ~ J 1 ~The CAN mill is spinning in its seventh edition. The first thing to note is that we got down to business on the very first day.
G R O U P E - A -:
- BENIN vs MOROCCO opening matches are often difficult. But this game is a real clash between 2 experienced coaches in this cup. It was an even contest, with the Beninese coming out on top as they created chances but failed to convert them. The Moroccan reaction was particularly noticeable in the second half, when the chances went begging. Score blank
- MOZAMBIQUE vs TANZANIE[/i][/b]: The Tanzanians hit hard in this game. Mozambique's chaotic start made it easy for the visitors, despite the home side's late goal. Final score: 1-3
G R O U P E - B -:
- b]ANGOLA vs CAMEROON[/b]: Cameroon's first appearance did not prevent them from putting in a good showing against a strong Angolan side. It was an open, entertaining match that went the way of the Indomitable Lions. Score 0-1
- b]MALI vs MAURITANIA[/b]: the Al Mourabitounes team was always a difficult equation for their opponents. Unfortunately, this was not the case in this edition. The Malian Eagles dominated the game, scoring from a well-timed corner kick. Final score: 1-0
G R O U P E - C -:
- SENEGAL vs ALGERIA: The Greens missed out on an edition before their return, when they faced the Teranga Lions in their first match. The latter gave a mediocre performance in front of their fans. Final score: 0-2
- RWANDA vs ZIMBABWE[/i][/b]: Efficiency was the headline of this match. It turns out that the coach has prepared his team well for this cup, while the Rwandan manager has to sort out the situation for the rest of the competition. Score is 1-4

The problem is the withdrawal of one of the participating federations, namely Tanzania. Unfortunately, there is no chance of resolving this problem. However, the CAN will continue to be played in Group A with only 4 federations.

32 dage sidenNB: Once again, a federation has been abolished, generating the continuity of the cup. It is now Algeria's turn, except that their 2 victories will remain engraved in the history of this edition.
G R O U P E ~A~:
NB: following the abolition of the Tanzanian federation, this group is playing with 4 teams instead of 5.
[MOROCCO vs EQUATORIAL GUINEA:[/i] The point gained on Matchday 1 gave the Atlas Lions no room for error in their 2nd appearance. Faced with a Guinean side who only started the competition on this day, the game was evenly matched at all levels. Nevertheless, some small details gave the Moroccans a lead, and the final score was 1-0.
[MOZAMBIQUE vs BÉNIN:[/i] The Beninese are no different from the Moroccans. They had to win to stay in the race. But Mozambique raised their game and their players came very close to a precious victory. They opened the scoring before the Cheetahs equalised; 1 - 1.
G R O U P E ~B~:
- MAURITANIA vs ANGOLA: the 2 teams are coming off a defeat, so each side aims to catch up. An amusing game from the start, with a goal scored in the 1st quarter of an hour by the Palancas Negras, which they managed to keep until the end of the game: 0 - 1.
[CAMEROON vs MALI:[/i] The Indomitable Lions hit back hard in the 2nd match, beating the Malian Eagles. Open and entertaining match, but the expulsion of one of the eagles had its influence on the rest of the match. Final score 1 - 0. And yes, the Cameroonians scored the winning goal in the 87th minute: 1 - 0.
G R O U P E ~C~:
- RWANDA vs SENEGAL: Something is not right with the Rowandans. The 2nd defeat means an early disqualification for a team playing the leading roles in this cup. The players all tried to score goals. However, a lack of concentration in front of goal cost them dearly. The Teranga Lions, on the other hand, were able to hold off their opponents and take the 3 points; 0 - 2.

It is important to note that the problems encountered (deletion of federations, list validation bugs) were resolved by the organisers, allowing this phase to be brought to a successful conclusion.
GROUP A:
A tie! It was a tight affair between Morocco and Benin right up to the final day of this phase. It was only the draw that favoured the Atlas Lions.
Equa-Guinea's victory over Mozambique also secured them 3rd place.
GROUP B:
Contrary to what was planned at the outset. This group benefited from a change in format which worked in MAURITANIA's favour.
GROUP C:
From the start of the CAN matches. A competition appeared between SENEGAL and ZIMBABWE to be classified at the head of this group. The lions of Teranga took advantage of the goal average and occupy the 1st place.
Namibia lost any chance of qualification with a heavy defeat on the final day of the competition.

MATCH 1: MOROCCO vs CAMEROON:
a match considered to be a "final before its time" between two of the continent's great footballing powers. The Moroccans showed their superiority by imposing a totally controlled game and winning 1-0.
MATCH 2: SENEGAL vs EQUATORIAL GUINEA:
As Senegal, the big favourites on paper, began their CAN quarter-final against Equatorial Guinea, the match took an unexpected turn. After the Lions of Teranga seemed to have the better of the opening exchanges, Equatorial Guinea took the lead, scoring three goals in the first half. However, the Senegalese made a comeback in the second half, scoring two goals from the 60th minute onwards, but their efforts were not enough to close the gap and win the game. The match ended in victory for Equatorial Guinea.

Mauritania confirmed their rise to prominence in the competition, establishing themselves as a tough opponent. This match was no exception, with the team dominating for long periods and scoring after a series of missed chances. Just as the final whistle was expected to seal qualification, a powerful shot from their opponents in the 87th minute turned everything on its head, giving the 'warriors' a reprieve and sending the match into a decisive penalty shoot-out.

Aware of the crucial stakes, both teams approached the match with extreme caution, analysing every detail to avoid making any mistakes.

For 90 minutes, the match was marked by defensive rigour and a closed game, resulting in a spectacle lacking in chances and little in the way of entertainment.
A tight, complicated match that left the spectators with a taste of unfinished business.

ZIMBABWE vs MALI
There's no stopping the Eagles of Mali! Even against a well-organised Zimbabwean side, their attack made all the difference. The opening goal was decisive, breaking down their opponents' resistance and making it difficult for the Zimbabwean Warriors to hit back.
MOROCCO vs MAURITANIA:
Like Mali, the Atlas Lions are continuing their winning ways. In the North African clash, they played a spectacular match, dominating an outmatched Mauritanian team. It was a deserved victory, both in form and substance.
