The cup is scheduled to start once there have been 512 entries!

However, only 353 eligible clubs have received a private message inviting them to register

(a number of which have been inactive for some time!)

So,

• either the Cup will never start
• or the admins will reduce the number of registered teams (256 seems to be the ideal number) so that it can go ahead
• or the cup will start on 11 July as planned, but with several hundred inactive clubs suddenly becoming ‘legendary’, which is a bit odd

But then again, perhaps it’s designed this way so that the number of entrants remains unattainable and the cup doesn’t start before 11 July, when the other official cups will have finished or be well underway.

And just like every four seasons, it’s the same old story.
Yes, there are inconsistencies, but there aren’t enough ‘Legends’ clubs; if everyone wants to sign up for the ‘Legends’, there needs to be enough space.
There’ll always be some people who aren’t happy; if we run it with fewer clubs, those who wanted to take part will come and complain that they couldn’t sign up.
To the sensible admins: if, at the level just below the members for a cup, they see that registration is closed, they’ll simply go ahead and launch it.

For future rounds, it might be worth setting up an automatic filter to exclude clubs that have been inactive for more than x days (56 days?).

And why not create a 256-team cup and restrict entry to managers from the Legends’ Circle?

That sorts everything out: no outsiders, no inactive managers, no prohibitive deadlines.

I completely agree – a first-round match against an AFK opponent with a squad of just two players… so that’s a bit of a walkover.

It was the previous election that had been postponed, as if the federation had not been abolished. I have fixed this bug and removed the elections where there is no federation.

That other bug has indeed been fixed and I can now stand as a candidate, but that doesn’t explain the disappearance of the Chad Federation, for which I was standing in an election due to take place in six months’ time and which had therefore not yet been launched to gather votes.
NB: Another club told me via private message that they’d also had the same problem with the United Arab Emirates, and I seem to recall hearing that there was a similar issue a few seasons ago with Algeria.

Personally, I was due to play against Belgium, a non-active federation. I set up my team using a specific tactic. As a result, I ended up playing against a different club, and my tactics weren’t suited to that club: I conceded a goal early on. Luckily, I was able to log in to change that. But I’m worried I’ll have to put up with the ‘AFK’ tactics from this new club, which is even worse in terms of inactivity.
